WaterHarvest - A NEW NAME FOR WELLS FOR INDIA

One of the things I hope for this magazine is for it to reflect the interests, in as general a sense as possible, of the community.  Thanks once again to Bob Durston for keeping us up to date with one of the charities in which he and other parishioners take a great interest.  As we see in this announcement, the name of Wells for India is being replaced, and the latest edition of WaterWise magazine is available to download.

This year, our 30th Anniversary year, we are celebrating the success of all our many achievements, and looking ahead to our exciting future. This looking ahead brings new energy and with it the need for appropriate change with a fresh, contemporary image. During our 30 years of working on water-harvesting projects and working closely with our NGO partners in India, we have seen how water changes the lives of the marginalized communities in India. Our name 'Wells for India' no longer clearly represents the breadth of our work, and, after a careful process of consultation, we've decided to change our name to 'WaterHarvest', which we feel accurately describes the very essence of our work both now and in the future.

Becoming WaterHarvest will enable us to adapt to the rapidly changing world around us, especially in India, and with hopes of attracting a wider audience. You can rest assured that our charity remains the same, as do our values.  Although the face of our organisation has changed, our work remains focused on the provision of water, for drinking and for crops.
