Advent Family Resources

Our Youth Groups are on Zoom!

Our Parish cares about its young people! So much so, we offer three weekly youth groups programmes, for children in school years 3-6, 7-9 and 10-13, where faith, discussion, fun, creativity and prayer are at the centre of the sessions. Our youth ministry provides unique opportunities to grow in faith and love of the Church in a fun and dynamic environment.
All three youth groups are happening weekly during term-time, via Zoom.  Click on any of the images below to find out more.

Meet Our Children, Youth and Families Team

All Children, Youth and Families activities in the Catholic Parish of Guildford are coordinated by Aseel, with the help of an employed youth worker and admin assistant. Aseel was appointed as Parish Youth coordinator in September 2007 and Children, Youth and Families Coordinator in September 2015.

Dear Parents,

Thank you for taking the time to read through the information regarding our Catholic Parish of Guildford Youth ministries. For children: our baby and toddler groups offer fun spaces for carers of babies and toddlers to play together and make friends and every Sunday in term-time you can find Children's Liturgy at our morning Sunday Masses. For young people: youth groups for ages 7-18, Rooted weekend away, trips to Diocesan and national youth events, and summer club are designed to be a place for your child to come and learn about God in a new and dynamic way. They are places where young people can hear about a God that loves them and where they can build healthy relationships and have fun. For parents: we offer parenting courses and a ParentConnect group. For families: we offer creative and engaging themed days for the whole family to partake in and grow in faith together.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

God bless,
Aseel,
Children, Youth and Families Coordinator

The CYF Vision

Children, young people and their families are the present and the future of the Church.
The Catholic Parish of Guildford recognises children and young people in their totality, taking their personal and spiritual growth seriously and encouraging them to seek for Christ in their lives, from an early age. We believe that children and young people are participants in God’s mission, along with the whole Church, as is their right by baptism.
Our vision is to see children and young people grow into the fullness of who they are called to be in all aspects of their lives.
We aim to accompany children and young people lived out through being there for them. We desire to enter their world and understand the complexities of their culture, respect it and help them to find Christ where they are. We aim to equip them to see things through a gospel lens and to be agents of Christ's Kingdom not just for the benefit of the Church but the world in which they live.
Recognising the significant role of family networks in the development of children and young people, the Catholic Parish of Guildford aims to provide ongoing formation and accessible participation in the sacraments in relation to the family and of the family in relation to the child.
The parish of Guildford aims to offer fidelity, genuine hope and abounding love within a welcoming and authentic community. We recognise that young people long for an authentic and creative community that opens itself to the real questions of life and living together
We especially recognise the impact of the family on children and young people’s development, identity building and desire for fidelity
Our vision is to re-imagine Church, where the transformation of children, young people and their families’ results in a transformation of the Church itself
The only way we can effectively do this is to ensure that God, the church communities in the Catholic Parish of Guildford and the home are in communion.
We seek to be welcoming and inclusive of all children and young people, whatever physical, mental or emotional conditions they possess.
We seek to make the appropriate arrangements to support those with additional needs (whether physical, mental, emotional or educational) to access and enjoy our children’s, youth and family ministries.
