St Joseph’s is a strong, vibrant and diverse community within Guildford and the surrounding area. As many as 62 different nationalities worship here. In addition to the rich liturgical programme, there is a wide range of activities that aim to strengthen and deepen faith. The Youth Programme is a particularly strong feature of Guildford and the Parish is keen to take forward work on developing the pastoral needs of other groups within the population, especially older people and those who are sick or disabled.
There are 2 Masses each sunday, the atmosphere at Mass is relaxed and informal but with a deep reverence.
10.30 am Mass. This Mass attracts an mixed congregation attracted by Organ and a choir.
5pm Mass. is very well attended and the congregation includes all ages, including students and families. It has a contemporary feel with vibrant music provided by the 5pm Mass Group. Children’s Liturgy takes place in the Hall in term time during the first part of the Mass. The children are taken out for their own Liturgy of the Word, music and activities.
