Tuesday Club

The Tuesday Club is a social club that is open to all and which meets monthly (on the third Tuesday) either for tea and cakes in St Joseph’s hall with a talk/entertainment or for a trip to a place of interest. We believe in the message of Jesus Christ and come together to share that love in community, companionship and support for all the Club’s members and friends whether they are Catholic, another faith or none.

Garden Lunch Party. Two-course lunch (cold meat/fish and salads) followed by tea and coffee. Vegetarian option on request. There will be 20 minutes of musical entertainment after lunch. Meet in the Car Park (see directions on Painshill Park website) at 1.45pm for a 2.00pm entry. Suggested donation for entry and talk £10 https://www.painshill.co.uk/visit-us/ The visit will include a talk on the history of the park which is an 18th century landscaped garden with extensive trails and romantic follies including a Crystal grotto. For those who wish, there is a trip on an open-sided bus around some of the park. For others a stroll or walk along the picturesque trails. 'Cosmology and the Catholic Church' a talk by Graham Stott, a volunteer at the Science Museum. We have been fascinated by the stars for as long as we have been on this earth. Theologians have, for millennia, sought to understand their movements as a means of understanding the Creator's intent. Graham will be giving his views on how Catholic astronomers including Copernicus, Galileo and LeMaitre have contributed to this search. Tues 17th Nov. 2.30-4.30pm St. Joseph's Church Hall.
