The Parenting Teenagers Programme
|
What is the Parenting Teenagers Course?
How and when and where do you draw the line with teenagers? How do you set limits? How do you cope with all the arguing, swinging moods, annoying habits, outright rebellion…? How can parents and teens learn to live together with respect for one another? These are some of the questions dealt with in this programme. This course reinforces the same parenting skills offered in our other programmes while dealing with the more difficult situations met in the teen years. Because it is so important to reinforce skills being learnt, it is recommended that parents of teenagers experience the Fives to elevens programme first (though this is not essential). This course can help! There is no suggestion that there are easy answers. What suits one parent may not work for another. But you will find respect here for the fact that you and your family are different. The Programme also helps you find practical ideas to apply in your own way in your family. Many parents find that these ideas help to reduce tension and arguing and prepare teenagers for responsible adult living. When and where is the course running? The programme runs for six sessions, with an optional follow up session. If you are interested in attending the course, please do contact us and we will can let you know about course dates for 2017. |
We are the main influence on our teenagers’ future. Discovering we are not alone in the challenges we face and picking up ideas from other parents can make a huge difference. Meeting our teenagers’ deepest needs, setting healthy boundaries, helping to develop their emotional health and teaching them how to make good choices takes skill and dedication. Taking time to reflect on our end goal can help us to build our relationship with our teenagers now.”
