Parents, you have the most important job in the world and we want to support you.

We offer a group called ParentConnect for parents and grandparents to meet together, to chat and support each other. We also run parenting courses at various times throughout the school year. The Parenting Children Course...
is for parents, step-parents, prospective parents or carers of children 0-10 years. The course is for every type of parenting situation including parenting on your own, step-parenting and parenting as a couple.
The Parenting Children Course is based on Christian principles but designed for all couples with or without a church background. The Parenting Children Course was developed in 1990 by Nicky and Sila Lee, creators of the Marriage Course and founders of the Alpha Course.
These five sessions, the course will help you to:

• Build strong foundations
• Meet your children's needs
• Set clear boundaries
• Teach healthy relationships
• Consider your long term aim

What can I expect?
On The Parenting Children Course, you are seated in small groups based on the age of your oldest child so that you can meet other parents and carers with children of a similar age. Each session begins with something to eat and/or drink, giving you space to relax and chat to other parents or carers followed by a practical talk and a time for discussion in groups. The talk is given live or on DVD and includes street interview, filmed clips of parents and children sharing their own experiences and advice from parenting experts. 

Parentconnect

The CYF vision for ParentConnect is to:
​- invite parents and carers to start to have conversations about parenting
- enable parents and carers to share challenges and possible solutions
- encourage parents and carers by creating connections with other parents
- share experience, strength and hope around parenting and faith.

We will be run these sessions periodically throughout the year.  In each session we discussing a different aspect of parenting. We hope that these sessions are just the beginning of parents and carers connecting with each other and carrying on the conversation.

Parents and carers of children of all ages are welcome and  are invited to come to as many of the sessions as they wish. The sessions are free, all we ask is for a donation towards refreshments.

is for parents, step-parents, prospective parents or carers of teenagers aged 11-18 years.
The course is for every type of parenting situation including parenting on your own, step-parenting and parenting as a couple.
The Parenting Teenagers Course is based on Christian principles but designed for all couples with or without a church background. The Parenting Children Course was developed in 1990 by Nicky and Sila Lee, creators of the Marriage Course and founders of the Alpha Course.
These five sessions, the course will help you to:

• Keep your long term aim in mind
• Meet you teenager's needs
• Set clear boundaries
• Develop emotional health
• Help them make good choices

Who will be running the course?
The course will be facilitated by Aseel, the Children, Youth and Families Coordinator, for the Catholic Parish of Guildford. She is a parent to two children, one of whom is a pre-teen, and have over 10 years experience working with teenagers.
