ACAT is Action by Christians Against Torture and details of its activities can be found HERE.
One of the Justice & Peace themes is reaching out to prisoners of conscience and others unjustly imprisoned. We are inviting our parishioners to participate in a Greetings Campaign based on the ACAT Christmas Greetings Campaign 2025.
Last year we had a magnificent response from GCP parishioners and we very much hope that this year’s response from our four communities will result in a greater number of messages – perhaps exceeding 200!
If you would like to help with the signing process after Mass at your church (30 mins max) please contact the organisers at [email protected].
Below are abbreviated profiles for a number of individuals currently experiencing prison sentences, some of whom are at risk of being executed.
If you would like to take home some greetings cards please do so – but be sure to ask the organisers for the address details. We do not refer to ACAT in the messages and we do not usually use religious wording in case this would be unacceptable to the authorities. Do not include your surname or details of
your address.
You can also find details of the addresses for prisoners and guidance on the messages on the link to ACAT in the paragraph below.
For a more detailed profile of these (and other) prisoners and their circumstances you can download the ACAT Christmas Greetings Campaign 2025 by clicking this link CHRISTMAS GREETINGS CAMPAIGN 2025.
Thank you for your interest and compassion.
