Home Groups
"They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to the prayers." (from Acts Chapter 2 verse 42)
Formed 30 years ago under the inspiration of this scripture verse, the Guildford parish Homegroups meet regularly for praise and worship, teaching/faith formation, discussion, prayer and social time. The name 'Homegroups' was inspired by Acts 2: 46-47 "... breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favour with all the people."
We support each other in our journeys of faith and ongoing conversion, so that we're better equipped to serve the mission of the parish. We are grounded in the teachings of the Catholic Church, and aim to promote growth in the gifts of the Holy Spirit, all whilst under the guidance of our parish priests.
We meet on a Thursday evening every 2-3 weeks during school term times. We usually gather in small groups in the homes of our generous Homegroup hosts, but we'll often come together as a single group in a church hall for joint meetings too. We also host social events, and parish-wide programs such as Alpha and Life in the Spirit.
Our larger meetings and events are usually advertised in the parish newsletter, but we'd encourage you contact us to directly so we can keep you up to date: [email protected]
