We are blessed by all four churches having excellent hall facilities. St Joseph's and St Mary's is only for use by parish groups now, however the two halls of St Pius X, and St Edward's provide excellent facilities that are available for hire by both parishioners, the community and commercial users. St Edwards Hall
The Hall is connected to the Church and is adjacent to the Priest’s House, Vine Cottage. There are two approach roads, the easier being from Blanchards Hill, turning into the Sutton Park estate. The car park is outside the lych gate at the entrance to the Church. The Hall is on the far side of the Church, approached through the lych gate and carrying on past the Church porch. Vine Cottage, the Priest’s house, is to the right of the Church as seen from the car park.
The Hall is a Church facility primarily for use in conjunction with the Church and its services, including baptisms, weddings and funerals. It is available for use under licence by groups and individuals associated with the Church or for educational purposes. Users and licensees are invited to make a donation to cover utilities used and the long-term maintenance of the hall. There is no set scale but the following is a guide: Church-related activities (other than those directly sponsored by St Edward's Church) £50; private parties £100; short reception (drinks and canapes type) following a wedding £300; wedding reception £500. For private bookings, a deposit of £100 is required at the time of booking. The deposit will be returned within one week after use of the hall. If additional cleaning of the hall is required the deposit will be retained. Applications to use the hall should be made to the Parish Office. A licence agreement and the terms and conditions of use can be to the right The indemnity requirement and child protection requirements are specified in the licence. Users and licensees will be provided with the Hall User Handbook and a set of keys. |
